What is linseed oil putty?

Linseed oil putty is an ecological filler made from natural raw materials, designed for filling cracks and minor defects in wood as well as sealing wooden window panes. It is made from a mixture of linseed oil and chalk, contains no chemical additives, and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Linseed oil putty is especially popular in window restoration and traditional construction, where durability and the natural quality of materials are important.

How to use linseed oil putty?

For filling cracks and defects in wood

Apply the putty to a clean, dry surface with a putty knife and smooth it out to completely fill the cracks. Linseed oil putty can be painted with linseed oil paint immediately after application.

For sealing window panes

Before application, it is recommended to coat the window groove with shellac. After it dries, apply a thin layer of linseed oil putty, insert the glass, remove excess material, and then evenly apply putty around the entire perimeter to seal the window pane. In this case as well, linseed oil putty can be painted immediately after the putty is applied.

Storage

Store an open container in a cool place, tightly sealed. Before reuse, allow it to warm to room temperature.
