What is OLI-NATURA Yacht- & Teaköl?

OLI-NATURA Yacht & Teaköl is a natural wood protection oil that consists of a blend of vegetable oils (linseed oil, castor oil, etc.) and natural pigments. It contains no biocides, fungicides, synthetic resins, or preservatives, unlike many products available on the market.

It is especially suitable for terraces, garden furniture, yacht and boat decks as well as other wooden surfaces exposed to intense moisture, UV radiation, and weather conditions. It penetrates deeply into the wood without forming a "film," allowing the wood to "breathe" naturally and preventing cracking. Thanks to its DIN EN 71-3 certification, it is also safe for children and suitable for surfaces that children may come into contact with. Also suitable for indoor use.

For which types of wood is it intended?

• Pine, spruce, larch – the wood may be previously impregnated.
• Hardwood – oak, ash, black alder.
• Exotic wood – teak, mahogany, eucalyptus, etc.

How to apply correctly?

1. Surface preparation:
   • The surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease.
   • We recommend washing the surface beforehand with linseed oil soap.
   • Required air temperature: +15°C to +28°C, relative humidity 40–65%.
2. Oil application:
   • Apply a thin layer with a brush or felt roller.
   • After 20–30 minutes, wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth to prevent oil spots.
   • We recommend applying 2 coats. Apply the second coat after 12 hours and again wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth after 20–30 minutes.
3. Drying time:
   • On average, 12 hours.
   • Fully dry: 2–5 days depending on air humidity and temperature.

Consumption

• 1L covers 15–20 m² of smooth wooden surface (depending on wood type).
• For classic terrace boards (with grooved surface), consumption may be twice as high (1L covers 8–10 m²).
• The second coat usually requires 40% less oil than the first coat.

Safety and storage

• ⚠ Cloths soaked in oil may self-ignite if not stored properly.
• ⚠ After use, they must be soaked in water or burned.

📦 Storage

• Shelf life: at least 36 months (at 18°C).
• Store in the original, tightly closed packaging, in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Surface cleaning and care

• For daily cleaning, use warm water, avoiding aggressive cleaning agents with a high pH level.
• As a cleaning and additional protective agent, we recommend using liquid linseed oil soap.
• After several years, we recommend renewing the protective layer with the same oil.
