Description

100% plant-based, distilled from pine resin. A traditional solvent and drying accelerator for linseed oil and tar products.

Claessons balsam turpentine is pure pine turpentine oil obtained by distilling natural pine resin. Unlike mineral solvents or white spirit, it is a fully renewable, plant-based product that has been used for centuries in traditional construction.

Why use natural turpentine?

Pure turpentine has a unique property – it both attracts and releases oxygen, allowing it to act as a natural drying accelerator in linseed oil and tar products, especially in areas with limited air access. Additionally, it reduces viscosity, allowing tar and oil to penetrate deeper into wood fibers.

Applications

  • For thinning linseed oil products and regulating viscosity
  • For thinning tar, ensuring better absorption and faster drying
  • For cleaning brushes and tools after working with linseed oil paints, oils, and tar
  • Solvent for shellac, damar varnish, and resins in restoration work
