What is AURO Hartwachs No. 171?

AURO Hartwachs No. 171 is a 100% natural hard wax made from beeswax and carnauba wax, providing durable and natural wood protection. The wax does not clog the wood pores, allowing the wood to "breathe," and creates a silky matte, pleasantly velvety finish.

Why choose AURO hard wax?

• Free from solvents and preservatives – contains no petroleum products, isoparaffins, or synthetic additives.

• Safe for children and surfaces in contact with food – complies with the German DIN EN 71-3 standard (suitable for toys and tabletops).
• Also suitable for mineral surfaces – clay tiles, clay stove tiles, and natural stone surfaces.

🚫 Does not contain synthetic waxes, polyurethanes, or petroleum solvents – which could create a "film" effect or interfere with the wood’s natural moisture regulation.

How to apply correctly?

For previously untreated wooden surfaces, we recommend first applying AURO PurSolid Hartöl 123 to ensure even better protection before applying AURO wax.

1. Preparation:
   • The surface must be clean, dry, and free from grease and dirt.
   • If necessary, the surface can be lightly sanded to improve wax absorption.
2. Application:
   • With a cloth, hand polishing pad, angle grinder with a polishing pad, or a polishing machine – apply a thin layer and spread evenly.
   • Hot application method – optimal temperature 80–82°C, using a special wax gun.
3. Polishing:
   • Within 1–2 hours (before completely dry), polish the wax with a soft cloth, hand polishing pad, angle grinder with a polishing pad, or a polishing machine.

Consumption

• Average consumption: 0.01 L/m²
• Consumption may vary depending on the absorbency of the surface and the application method. For precise data, it is recommended to perform a test coating on a small area.

Safety and storage

• ⚠ Cloths soaked with wax may self-ignite if not stored properly.
• ⚠ After use, they must be soaked in water or burned.

📦 Storage

• Shelf life: 24 months (at 18°C).
• Store in the original, tightly closed packaging, in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Surface cleaning and care

• For daily cleaning, use warm water, avoiding aggressive cleaning agents with a high pH level.
• As a cleaning agent, we recommend using liquid linseed oil soap.
• After several years, we recommend renewing the protective layer with the same wax.
