What is AURO PurSolid Hard oil 123?

AURO PurSolid Hard oil 123 is a 100% natural hard oil, which is often compared to hard wax oil (oil with hard wax). Unlike hard wax oil, which often contains synthetic waxes, AURO hard oil is made only from natural plant oils (tung oil, linseed oil, sunflower oil, etc.) and contains no solvents.

It penetrates deeply into the wood and forms a wear-resistant protective layer within the wood fibers, protecting the surface from moisture and dirt. Unlike many oils with wax, AURO hard oil does not clog the wood pores, allowing the wood to "breathe" and preserving its natural texture.

How to apply correctly?

1. Preparation:
   • The wood surface must be clean, dry, and sanded with 120–150 grit sandpaper.
   • The wood surface must be completely free of old varnish or other synthetic coatings.
2. Application:
   • 1st coat: Apply a thin layer with a brush, felt roller, or cloth.
   • After 20–30 minutes, wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth.
   • 2nd coat (after 24 hours): Apply a thin layer with a cloth, polishing pad, angle grinder with polishing pad or polishing machine.
3. Drying time:
   • On average 24 hours at +20°C and 65% relative humidity.
   • Full hardness: 2-4 weeks (avoid heavy use and moisture during this period).

Coverage (1L)

• Oak, ash, maple → up to 50 m²
• Birch, pine, spruce, OSB boards → about 25 m²
• Alder, cherry, veneered or thermally treated woods → about 20 m²

Safety and storage

• ⚠ Cloths soaked in oil can self-ignite if not stored properly.
• ⚠ After use, they must be immersed in water or burned.

📦 Storage

• Shelf life: 24 months (at 18°C).
• Store in the original, tightly closed container, in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.
  

Surface cleaning and care

• For daily cleaning, use warm water, avoiding aggressive cleaning agents.
• As a cleaning and additional protective agent, we recommend using linseed oil soap.
• After several years, we recommend renewing the protective layer with hard wax AURO Hartwachs No. 171.
